Lumificient LED Drivers for Hyperion R-Lite

Lumificient Corp. (Maple Grove, MN) offers two LED drivers that power its Hyperion R-Lite™ flexible LED strips. The LED is designed for channel-letter and other sign-illumination applications.

Drivers in this product line include the HRL-PS96-70 and HRL-PFC-24. The first requires 120VAC input voltage and a maximum 0.25A input current. It powers up to 15 ft. (or 25 ft. with a 230VAC input) of Hyperion strip with an output voltage of 8V. The second, more powerful, 120VAC/240VAC driver powers up to 70 ft. of Hyperion strip and requires the same input and output voltages. A higher input current, 0.6A, differentiates it from the lower-power model.

The company says its product is distinct in its use of an 8vAC, toroidal (doughnut-shaped) driver, which differs from the electronic power supplies used by 12vDC systems.
