Field Digestion

We were installing a large town entrance sign in a field outside of city limits. As we were setting the vertical posts with a crane, our support stringers were staged on the ground off to the side. When it came time to use the supports, a bull snake had decided to park itself on our boards, with a ground squirrel halfway in its mouth and the rodent screaming at the top of its lungs. We tried to get the snake to keep moving, but it remained on our boards until the poor critter was fully consumed. The snake then slowly slithered off into the grass and after an unforeseen 20-minute delay, we were able to use the supports to level the structure.
