Puerto Rico Tourism Authority officials have often touted the island as the most exotic place one can travel while still paying for goods and services with dollars. This wrap emphasized the island’s natural beauty by rendering a large pristine waterfall’s cascade and the beautiful surrounding flora. The Authority hired NYC-based Metromedia Technologies (MMT) to outfit five, double-decker buses that navigate Washington, D.C. and Boston streets. Three were completely wrapped, and two others were given partial, “L”-shaped wraps. The total graphics coverage encompassed 5,393 sq. ft.
After having fine-tuned the vector-art imagery the Authority provided with Adobe Photoshop, MMT printed the graphics using 3M’s Scotchcal IJ3552C, a short-term, easily removed vehicle-graphic media, with the shop’s Epson Stylus Pro GS 6000 printer in CMYK mode. The body’s wraps are protected with Scotchcal 8519 luster overlaminate. To outfit the windows, MMT used 3M’s IJ8171 50%-perforated window film and 8914 optically clear, cast overlaminate.
“We had a very quick turnaround on this job,” Abhi Vyas, MMT’s director of marketing, said. “How we packaged these printed graphics was very important, because they were carefully labeled for third-party, offsite installation. The colors printed beautifully, and the client was very pleased.
