Nova Polymers (Fairfield, NJ), in partnership with Arcat, is presenting building-information modeling (BIM) objects for use in architectural signage and wayfinding. BIM entails a process of developing a building to render or present building components, construction sequences, resource allocation, and other virtual facets of the construction process. BIM, an object-oriented building process, incorporates 4-D modeling concepts and Autodesk Revit, Tekla and ArchiCAD software to communicate building essentials and create a 3-D model that presents geometric and geographic building and component information. According to the company, the system offers such benefits as improved sequence coordination and marketing presentations, and fewer production errors.
