Originale Designs Helps Mom-And-Pop BBQ Joint Spice Up Business

Nazareth, PA’s shop’s work reflects that a good sign is small business’ best asset

All you have to do is walk down "Main Street" in many U.S. cities to know that many small businesses are struggling. Big-box retailers in suburban shopping centers or exurban outlet stores offer ostensibly lower prices and more convenient access lure bargain-hunting shoppers.

Alas, restaurants remain as one of the last bastions where independent entities have a viable opportunity to compete with megachains. To whatever extent consumers’ trending towards conformity be reflected in choices in clothing, housewares or technology, their palates still crave food that deviates from mass-produced, standaridzed food that will taste the same in Scranton as in San Diego.

That said, mom-and-pop restaurants remain at a disadvantage in terms of name recognition. Their best weapon to get noticed on the street? Signage. No radio or TV ad provides a remotely comparable ROI. And even social-media posts, given the distracted attention span of users, providers far less impact than a well designed, storefront sign.

Jason Nale, proprietor of Originale Designs (Nazareth, PA), fabricated a cost-effective, but eye-catching sign for Robesonia, PA’s Muddy’s BBQ. After designing the system with Adobe‘s Creative Suite, he fabricated the sign using Alucobest aluminum-composite material that was routed by the supplier. Nale specifiedwith FDC Graphic Films, and installed window graphics comprise clear Orafol Orajet 3651 PVC film. Nale outsourced the digital printing.

Thanks to these sign’s smoke-laden mojo, more customers are sure to flock into to place carry-out or catering orders for pulled-pork sandwiches and rib plates.
