The Clay Center for the Arts and Sciences of West Virginia has modernized its image with the installation of a large Panasonic (Secaucus, NJ) outdoor LED video display.
The Clay Center, located in Charleston, includes the Avampato Discovery Museum, Maier Foundation Performance Hall, the ElectricSky™ Theater and the Walker Theater. The Clay Center is also home to the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra.
The LED display screen, implemented by Panasonic System Solutions Co., will promote current and future events at the venue.
The integrated solution comprises a one-sided, 9.5 x 6.5 ft. LED screen mounted approximately 9 ft. above ground. A 4,000 NITS brightness level and a 10mm-pixel pitch ensure sharp resolution even in bright daylight. The screens 3-in-1 SMD technology reportedly offers a higher density of pixels and allows for closer viewing distances, better color compounding and wider viewing angles.
Panasonic’s NMStage digital-signage software manages the screen’s content. This software suite allows the use of any media over a secure network with dedicated bandwidth.
Panasonic worked with the Clay Center to design the management solution. An NM-SVR system server distributes and logs content. This is accompanied by two NM-PLR automated content players. Built-in diagnostics and notifications help ensure programming stays on schedule, and if an LED module needs to be replaced, the entire system doesn’t need to be shut down. To further accentuate operational functionality, the Clay Center selected a wireless system for transferring content from the center to the screen.
