Schild Display Incorporates Daktronics ProPixel Sticks

Published

on

Schild, a Swiss fashion retailer with more than 30 stores, was looking for an advertising tool that would match the company’s elegant style, yet not be obtrusive in color or appearance. Daktronics’ Swiss partner John Lay Solutions developed and presented to Schild’s board of directors a modern concept that would enhance the customer s new image without losing the company’s well-known black/white imagery or exposing technical components.
On acceptance of the design, John Lay built a unique structure to house 363 Daktronics’ PXS-62 ProPixel Sticks. The sticks produce a scrolling banner that moves the company logo from right to left behind the large window front.
Installation and testing were completed prior to the transport to the Schild store in Zürich.
The project was under time constraint, with only 10 weeks from order to delivery. Kehya Kalyon, technical supervisor at the German office, was on-site during the installation, making sure that the control system worked to perfection.
The display joins other Daktronics installations in Zürich, such as Letzigrund Stadion and Hallenstadion Zürich (all projects in cooperation with John Lay).
