SEGD Names Top 20 21st-Century Wayfinding Projects

The Society for Experiential Graphic Design (SEGD) recently released a list that included the Top 20 wayfinding projects of the 21st Century. Like many lists, it’s likely to elicit strong opinions. From my understand, the list is made up entirely of projects completed by SEGD-member firm, so that creates the list’s context as well. Featured projects included Meeker and Assoc.’s 2004 revision of U.S highway signage to feature the Clearview typeface to enhance road-sign legibility; Pentagram’s reimaging of wayfinding at Bloomberg’s corporate headquarters; and Hunt Design’s program for Downtown LA Walks, a pedestrain-friendly, directional-sign program designed to encourage Angelenos to get out of the cars and onto their feet.
