The Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA; Fairfax, VA) has announced the recipients of the 2020 Sustainable Business Recognition Program. The award is bestowed upon companies that, according to SGIA, “implemented sustainable business practices in 2019 in accordance with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to optimize their contribution to a sustainable future.”
SGIA’s Advisory Council on Sustainability, Safety, Health and Personnel reviews all applications and recommends the award winners. The UN Sustainable Development Goals contains 17 goals and 169 targets that serves as a platform for monitoring impact and harmonizing sustainability initiatives. While there are 17 goals, SGIA encourages companies to focus on these three SDGs “Good Health and Well-Being,” “Decent Work and Economic Growth,” and “Responsible Consumption and Production.”
