Train Our Installers, Please

We produced a huge number of pole banners for a client using high-quality hardware for high winds. During production, the client hired another company to handle the installation because they provided a lower bid on installation. We provided instructions, a video and special tools for installing the heavy-duty hardware. Instead of our attachment hardware, the installers used large plastic zip ties and some standard pipe clamps to attach the heavy hardware to the poles in a windy area. Yes, it quickly failed and all these banners were hanging loose or falling down. The client asked if we could meet with and train the installation company on how to repair and rehang the banners properly. While the ask seemed absurd, we had to handle this carefully. The client is an important large employer in our area we were trying to impress with our workmanship and service. We handled it the best we could … We will see what the next chapter holds.
