Accelerating through curves in a sports car has to be among the most thrilling of experiences. Watching sports cars in action isn’t that far behind.

These machines feature unique body styles, contours, sharp curves and edges of their own, so wrapping them is no ordinary job.

From animal prints to comic-book superheroes, these top-shelf sports car wraps put the pedal to the metal. We think you’ll feel the rush.

Applied to a McLaren 650S, this wrap from KI Studios (San Diego) depicts The Hulk bursting through a wall. The car’s low-slung grill made it a perfect canvas for this design, allowing ample space for Hulk’s mouth, right down to his bottom teeth.

For this Porsche GT4, Innovative Auto Care (Los Angeles) created a unique mosaic with a black chrome base, topped with red and gold chrome accents. The shop completed the look with a layer of Ceramic Pro for extra protection and a shiny finish.

If merely wearing fine jewelry isn’t good enough, this is the car for you. This Mercedes SL 600 was fitted with 300,000 Swarovski crystals, each shaped into a diamond and then glued onto the body of the car. Garson (Osaka, Japan), the company behind this one-of-a-kind design, also offers crystal-studded wheels, gear shifters and steering wheels.

Wraps For Less (Orlando) completed this giveaway car wrap project for Privada Cigar Club using Adobe Illustrator, combining the in-house work of graphic designer Jean Colombani with a client-provided design. The wrap was printed on Arlon Graphics’ SLX+ using Wraps for Less’s HP Latex 365, and laminated with Arlon’s Series 3200 Clear and Series 3220 Matte on a Seal 600 MD laminator. The yellow areas of the wrap were laminated in gloss, with everything else in matte.

Team Acme (Henderson, NV) designed these wraps for Trophy Performance and their client Henry Marshall, using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to create cut- and printed-vinyl overlays, to match existing solid-wrap color material, and for different effects, said Teran Marsell, owner of Team Acme. The shop chose color-change films in combination with its Roland DG TrueVIS VF2-640 printing on white and silver 3M films, with 3M 8518 Overlaminate applied via their Royal Sovereign laminator.

For this Corvette, Tony Palmer of Palmer Signs (Roseville, CA) used Nazdar’s CATZper software. He also called upon Photoshop and SAi’s FlexiSIGN, then the shop’s HP 570 Latex to print 3M IJ180Cv3, followed by their GFP 563TH laminator to cover with 3M 8518 Gloss. “This wrap was very hard to install because of the very tight tolerances required to make the design look perfect,” Palmer said.

Another superhero design from KI Studios, this wrap was designed to look like Spiderman’s suit. It wasn’t easy lining up the digitally printed texture across body panels of this McLaren 570S, but with some help from Protective Film Solutions (Santa Ana, CA), the challenge was met.

Creative Color (Minneapolis) selected 3M, Avery Dennison and ORAFOL films for this project, cut on the shop’s 65-in. Summa S2 T160 plotter, and printed the spot graphics on 3M IJ180Cv3 with their HP Latex 560, then topped with 3M 8518 Overlaminate on their 65-in. AGL Encore laminator. “We created the design but had some inspiration with the client on the colors used,” said Brent Luther, owner/creative director.

Hollywood mega-star Jamie Foxx wrapped this Bugatti Veyron almost entirely in gold, with only the front grille, center wheel cap area, and door handles having been kept stock. Even the wheels were painted gold to match the extreme exterior.

Pro Wrap (Eindhoven, Netherlands) relied on an Avery Dennison film to wrap this Porsche in a graffiti-inspired depiction of Medusa, the Greek mythological figure.

Wicked Wraps (Marysville, WA) was hired to wrap this Shelby Super Cars (SSC) Ultimate Aero with a 500-sq.-ft. Oracal Series 970RA matte-black wrap. Rather than digitally printing the graphics, the shop applied printed, gold decals that Sam’s Signs, one of the car’s sponsors, had produced.

Most often seen in the fashion and home décor industries, animal prints have stood the test of time. Once Europeans brought home animal skins after colonizing Asia and Africa. the pattern designs were soon reproduced on fabric. They’ve since made it onto vehicle wraps, and appropriately enough, this Jaguar.

AP Corp (Sykesville, MD) built this racecar wrap for client Carlos Arrieta, a Formula Drift Prospect driver. AP Corp output the design, provided by Arrieta, from its HP 570 Latex printer on 3M IJ180Cv3 Controltac Graphic Film, with 3M Scotchcal Gloss Overlaminate 8518G by way of its Seal 62 Pro S laminator.

Atlanta Custom Wraps (Woodstock, GA) CEO/owner Justin Norton and lead installer Bryan Housley strived to make a statement without being “overly flashy” with this color-change wrap for ACW’s shop car, a 2018 McLaren 720S. After completing the design, Norton and Housley used 3M 1080 Satin White Aluminum color to complement the car’s carbon fiber.
