ST Media Group Names Robin Donovan Signs of the Times Editor-in-Chief

ST Media Group Intl. (Cincinnati) is announcing the appointment of Robin Donovan as editor-in-chief of ST, which has served as the voice of the sign industry since 1906. She replaces Wade Swormstedt, who’d served as publisher since 1991.
Robin began her career with the company in 2011 as a member of the ST staff, and later moved to the staff of Visual Merchandising + Store Design, and then to serve as editor-in-chief of The Big Picture in 2014. She joins ST’s experienced team of senior technology editor/analyst Darek Johnson, senior associate editor Steve Aust, senior art director Jeff Russ and a roster of veteran columnists, editorial advisors and contributors.
“Robin is a very talented and dynamic media professional with a great understanding of developing and delivering compelling business information across all media channels,” says Steve Duccilli, senior VP, content for ST Media Group. “She’ll also bring a well-rounded perspective of visual communications that she has gained in working in affiliated industries back to Signs of the Times.”
“I’m excited to rejoin ST Media’s flagship publication and to share the leadership and expertise that are the hallmarks of the Signs of the Times brand with an ever-growing audience of industry leaders and experts,” Donovan said.
Wade is leaving ST Media Group after 33 years with the company to serve as executive director of the newly created Foundation for the Advancement of the Sign Industry (FASI), which is seeking 501(c)(3) (non-profit) status. He will be working with numerous associations, universities, the American Sign Museum (ASM) and other sign-industry groups. Wade will remain in Cincinnati, with an office inside the ASM. Wade will also begin working more closely with a newly formed collegiate group with an interest in signage research.
