Summa’s Printer/Cutters
Summa Inc. (Seattle, WA) is presenting its next-generation Summa DC5 and DC5sx, 54- and 30-in.-wide, thermal-transfer print/cut devices that can print and precision-cut high-quality signs or innovative graphics. The machines feature ColorControl ™ 8 RIP; contour cutting; a redesigned, menu-driven, touch-screen control; and an OptiPrint™ media pre-cleaning system. A built-in ribbon changer controls up to eight, high-capacity SmartRibbon™ cassettes that, Summa says, allow you to print up to 625 sq. ft. on media from 20 to 54 in. wide. The 609-dpi (apparent) printers can function as a printer, cutter or contour cutter, and the integrated cutting head features advanced, auto-calibration technology that allows you to cut specialty media.
