The Wrong Target Audience

A blogger has taken aim at a Target billboard in Manhattan’s Times Square that depicts a young girl in winter clothes making a snow angel. Amy Jussel, the founder of the Shaping Youth.org blog about marketing’s impact on youth, reprimanded the retailer for seeming to convey a more lurid message. Other ads featured a man skating over the bull’s-eye. Target responded that it wouldn’t respond to the blog post, which is a “new media channel.” Photo credit: Bennett Williamson
