Watchfire (Danville, IL) has relocated its Houston operations to a new, larger facility at 9201 Winkler Dr, Houston, TX 77017. The move consolidates all Houston-based functions related to its Spectrum by Watchfire fixed-digit sports scoreboards, including manufacturing, sales, service, parts and repair, under one roof in a more than 53,000-sq.-ft. space designed to support the team’s growth and day-to-day operations, according to a press release.

The new facility represents a meaningful upgrade from the team’s previous location at 10050 Easthaven Blvd., bringing together a modern, climate-controlled environment with greater capacity in a single, purpose-fit space, per the release.

“This move is part of our ongoing commitment to investing in Houston and in the people behind our scoreboard operation,” Kyle Dines, vice president at Watchfire, is quoted in the press release. “Our Texas roots run deep through Houston, and that isn’t changing. What is changing is the environment our team gets to work in every day and the capacity we have to keep building world-class scoreboards and supporting our customers. This facility puts us in a much better position to grow.”

Watchfire acquired Spectrum Scoreboards in March 2023, integrating the Houston-based operation into its sports display business and maintaining the facility as the hub for fixed-digit scoreboard manufacturing and support. Founded in 1971, Spectrum pioneered the use of LED technology in fixed-digit scoreboards and has served schools, colleges, parks and stadiums across the country for more than five decades. The relocation keeps that legacy intact while modernizing the infrastructure behind it — per the release.

“Our people are what make this operation run,” Graham Bird, plant manager for Watchfire’s Houston facility, is also quoted in the press release. “They’re skilled, they’re dedicated, and they deserve a workspace that matches that. This new facility gives us the environment to keep growing, keep innovating and keep delivering for our customers, and that starts with taking care of the team that makes it all happen.”
