Signs of the Times, media partner of the Sign Invitational, hosted a 2021 ISA Sign Expo — Virtual panel on April 9 with the participants of this year’s competition. Signs’ Editor-in-Chief Mark Kissling moderated the discussion involving the following competitors:

  • Cam Andres, Multiwerks/Tail Creek Automation (Nevis, AB, Canada)
  • Jim Dawson, Synergy Sign & Graphics (Strasburg, OH)
  • Mo Flint, Atomic Barn Studios (Willow Spring, NC)
  • Janey Freid, Atlas Signs and Plaques (Delta, CO)
  • Amanda and Rusty Gibbs, Gibbs Graphics (Leavenworth, WA)
  • Matt Marriott, Imagination Corp. (Chilliwack, BC, Canada)
  • Dan Sawatzky, Imagination Corp. (Chilliwack, BC, Canada)
  • Nancy Wilde (Vernon, BC, Canada)

During the 50-minute conversation, Kissling briefly explained the history and purposes of the Sign Invitational, as related in the cover story of Signs of the Times’ April 2021 issue. Each competitor then described a bit about his or her project — often poking good fun at one another — and finally, questions were taken from the audience.

The ISA Expo panel was held while the competition voting was still open. Shortly after the date of the panel, Amanda and Rusty Gibbs were announced as the winners — their second straight victory — with Matt Marriott a close runner-up.
