Agfa Graphics to Acquire Gandi Assets

Agfa Graphics (Mortsel, Belgium) has announced its agreement to acquire most of the assets of Gandi Innovations Holdings LLC’s North American operations and shares of its principal foreign subsidiaries. Gandi Innovations (Mississauga, Canada), a large-format, inkjet, print-machine manufacturer, has operated under CCAA protection in Canada and Chapter 15 in the USA since May 2009.

Paul Adriaensen, Agfa Graphics PR Manager said the acquisition is subject to regulatory and court approval, and the successful closing of the transaction. He said the transaction price will not be disclosed at this time, but added that it will not impact Agfa’s financial debt.

Gandi Innovations 2008 sales were $127 million; the company said sales suffered in 2009.

Gandi Innovations was founded in 2001; it employs 256 People and operates worldwide through sales offices and distributors.

Richard Barham, Agfa Graphics’ vp, inkjet, said the acquisition of Gandi’s assets, combined with Agfa’s recent announcements of its Agfa Graphics’ :M-Press Tiger industrial flatbed inkjet press, and the launch of new printing engines in the :Anapurna large-format range, will strengthen the firm’s standing in the large-format, inkjet field. Hary Gandy, Gandi Innovations’ CEO and co-founder said the union offers tremendous opportunities to Gandi Innovations’ staff and customers.
