American Ballast (Fremont, CA), a commercial and residential power-solutions company, with worldwide manufacturing capabilities, has announced that its line of LED drivers meets the U.S. Energy Star® certification standards. The LED driver can provide up to 85% energy savings in such indoor- and outdoor-lighting applications as street lights, indoor down lights, ceiling lights, displays and channel lighting.

The LED drivers feature instant-start technology with parallel-circuit configuration. The operation temperature range, -20º to 70º, eliminates concerns at extreme temperatures, the company states. The driver is protected for failure with over voltage and current protection. Short circuits are answered with auto-recovery.

Suitable for parallel and series configurations, the LED-driver family is IP20- and IP66-rated for dry and wet locations. The drivers feature 110VAC input, and operating levels range from 160 to 304VAC. All American Ballast lighting solutions are UL and CuL recognized. The LED drivers are covered with a three-year or 100,000-hour warranty.

Phihong, established in 1972, introduced the American Ballast brand into the North American marketplace in 2004 to design and manufacture energy-efficient electronic fluorescent and HID ballast for commercial- and residential- lighting customers in North America.
