Company donates digital-billboard space to raise $40 million for Golden State arts organizations
Clear Channel Outdoor Holdings Inc. (NYC) has announced its support of the California Arts Council’s “Million Plates Campaign for the Arts.” The Council seeks to raise $40 million through the sales of custom license plates, whose proceeds benefit California’s arts-related organizations. Clear Channel Outdoor is donating. The sale of a plate nets $40 for the Council.
Clear Channel is donating 100 digital signs throughout California, and Los Angeles-based Industrial Creative will design the graphics for the billboards and other facets of a multi-platform, promotional campaign.
“Participating in an innovative solution that enables California’s arts organizations to continue inspiring and encouraging creativity is directly aligned with our core mission,” Greg McGrath, group president for Clear Channel Outdoor’s West Region, said.
According to California Arts Council chairwoman Malissa Shriver, California ranks last in per-capita, public arts funding.
