Item refers to neon as “dying”, but celebrates its worldwide legacy

A recent gallery posted on www.cnn.com highlights the brilliance of large, luminous neon signs from throughout the world. From the Sleep In a Wigwam motel in Cave City, KY to Asian entertainment-district signage, neon has served as a catalyst in creating destinations. Although some may take exception to the reference to neon as "dying," it highlights the world’s appreciation for the technology. Although LEDs have replaced neon for many electric-sign installations because of its ease of use and reported lifespan, neon will surely remain in demand for many types of environmental graphics.
