EFI™ (Foster City, CA), has announced its entry into a manufacturing agreement with Nazdar® (Shawnee, KS), in which Nazdar will produce EFI’s VUTEk and Inkware solvent inks. Nazdar will manufacture the ink with EFI’s VUTEk and Inkware current formulations.

Nazdar, a longtime EFI partner, distributes VUTEk® printers and inks to the North American screenprint market. It has produced inks and coatings since 1922, and for the digital-printing industry since 1998, through its manufacturing facilities in in Chicago, Atlanta, Toronto and Stockport, England. Nazdar Shawnee is the company's 120,000-sq.-ft. corporate headquarters and main manufacturing facility; in 2000, it received ISO 9001 status for its quality-management system.

EFI said it selected Nazdar as its manufacturing partner because it has been a trusted EFI partner for many years, and because of Nazdar’s commitment to quality, consistency and reliability.

EFI also announced that it expects to cease ink manufacturing at its Meredith, NH facility as part of its ongoing consolidation of its ink business. It will manufacture its UV-based and specialty digital inks at EFI’s facility in Ypsilanti, MI.

Scott Schinlever, vice president and general manager of EFI’s ink business, said EFI’s ink customers will continue to receive superior products and service, including the most consistent and durable inks for their printing systems.

EFI’s product portfolio includes Fiery® digital color print servers; VUTEk® superwide digital inkjet printers, UV and solvent inks; Rastek UV wide-format inkjet printers; Jetrion® industrial inkjet printing systems; print production workflow and management information software; and corporate printing solutions. The company maintains 23 offices worldwide.
