Exponation Announces Formation of Digital Signage Federation

Independent, 501c nonprofit welcomes users of digital signage in all vertical markets.

Exponation (Roswell, GA) announced the formation of the Digital Signage Federation (DSF) at the 2010 Digital Signage Expo. The purpose of the independent, 501c nonprofit is to accelerate the growth and advance the excellence of digital-signage deployments worldwide.
DSA welcomes users of digital signage in all vertical markets – retail, financial services, hospitality, travel, entertainment, human resources, healthcare, government and others. It also welcomes manufacturers, resellers and distributors of digital-signage hardware and software, as well as network operators, integrators, advertising agencies, consultants, analysts, publishers, tradeshow organizers and service companies. Initial “seed funding” will come from DSE. John Johnson, CAE, who has served as association consultant, has been named interim executive director.
An interim board comprises professionals in end-user, consulting, network and vendor segments of the digital-signage industry. The following board members will oversee the initial development of the organization and oversee the formal board election process: Phil Cohen, president and CEO, Care Media Holdings; Rich Cooley, CEO and founder, Visser Digital Media; Alan Brawn, principal, Brawn Consulting LLC; Laura Davis-Taylor, VP, Global Retail Strategy, Creative Realities Inc.; Jack Sullivan, senior VP, out-of-home media director, StarCom World Wide; Jennifer Bolt, executive director, media services and innovation, Tracy Locke Advertising; Bob Stowe, director, marketing services, Wendy’s International; Carre Dawson, director of business development, DS, Harris Corp. Broadcast Communications; Bill Trainor, president, Capital Networks Ltd.; Brian Dusho, president, BroadSign Intl.; Ken Goldberg, CEO, Real Digital Media; Pierre Richer, president and COO, NEC Display Solutions Americas.
The DSF expects to solidify its member-elected board within approximately 90 days.
