FUJIFILM North America Corp. (Valhalla, NY) is presenting the Fujifilm Digital Inkjet J Press 720, an inkjet, sheet-fed printing press designed for high-quality, short-run, commercial-printing applications. It employs the company’s Dimatix Samba printhead, and uses standard offset stocks. The J Press 720 also incorporates Fujifilm’s bleed-free water-based inks and cross-platform XMF workflow solution that drives the system.

System features include a standard paper-feeding mechanism for high registration accuracy; a pre-coating rolling that prepares the paper for the jetting station; 1,200 x 1,200-dpi printing with four grayscale levels at 2,700 sheets per hour with single-pass printing; color-accuracy scanes with two CCD cameras with in-line sensor; and heat- and air-drying functions that dry the paper before it’s output.
