Gandinnovations (San Antonio) is announcing the 1224 NanoJet2 flatbed printer, which uses 20, fourth-generation, Ricoh grayscale piezo-electric printheads to produce high- resolution images and maintain production speeds. Variable-dot sizes of 8 to 30 pl help balance speed and quality. The 4 x 8-ft. (1.5 x 2.4-meter) linear printing table and head-carriage system ensure accurate dot placement. The vacuum bed accommodates more than 73 qualified, rigid and flexible materials (up to 2 in. thick). The NanoJet2 can print on glass, acrylics, aluminum, wood, steel, Coroplast corrugated plastic, foamboard and styrene, plus others. The NanoJet2 uses four colors (CMYK) and on-demand white printing to minimize or eliminate color switch-out. GUV, the company’s new, UV ink, achieves vibrant images and background colors in the same printing pass on the NanoJet2
