Gerber’s OMEGA™ 3.0 Offers Bar Code, Label, Decal and Helper Upgrades

Gerber Scientific Products, Inc., (South Windsor, CT) has announced the inclusion of bar code design and printing as one of many new features in its OMEGA™ 3.0 software upgrade. The bar-code generator, which is integrated into OMEGA’s existing variable data system, includes multiple, one- and two-dimensional bar codes symbologies.

OMEGA 3.0 also includes features for streamlining label and decal production for GERBER EDGE owners; and it allows you to create back-cut and die-cut, simulated, ready-to-apply decals. This feature eliminates manual slicing and other labor-intense finishing techniques.

Another feature — to save time and labor when producing multiple weight kiss cuts — allows you to integrate multiple speed and weight settings into one label and decal cutting job. OMEGA 3.0 also contains a REGFIXER tool which improves color-to-color registration; it also provides improved choke-spread capability.

Finally, the upgrades ReAction feature, a powerful set of Composer capabilities, maintain the smart-edit, color- and shape-edit relationships for sequence-created functions.

Gerber also offers its new, Gerber Signshop Helper graphics package free (for a limited time) with its new OMEGA software packages and OMEGA™ 3.0 software upgrades.

The Signshop Helper clip-art package offers 2,000 pieces of graphic material, including vehicle decoration pieces and examples of great signs shop owners can use as a base which can then be decorated and personalized. It also comprises flames, metallic, lightning and watermark looks that can enhance large-format printers or the Gerber EDGE® produced signs.

Further, it includes North American vehicle templates that represent the lines, wheel wells and doors locations for recent and current model American-made cars and trucks.
