Image 4 Uses Recycled Material to Create Banners for Eastern Mountain Sports Stores

Banner materials re-use nearly 4,500 plastic bottles.

Image 4 (Manchester, NH) provided branding and merchandising signage that featured recycled-fabric banners in 69 Eastern Mountain Sports stores. The material re-uses 20 consumer bottles per square yard of fabric. The project comprised roughly 2,000 sq. ft. of fabric, which removed nearly 4,500 plastic bottles from the waste stream. In addition, Image 4’s patent-pending printing process emits no volatile organic compounds into the atmosphere.

Image 4’s president, Jeff Baker, is a featured speaker on the greening of the tradeshow and event industry, and spoke Baker spoke at the Green Event Summit in June 2008. Baker will be featured at the Event Design Summit in October in Los Angeles.

In November 2007, Inc. Magazine crowned the company the “World’s Greenest Trade Show Exhibit” producer. Baker and Image 4 have also been featured in Event Design Magazine and Deliver Magazine for his green practices.

The company is a member of the U.S. Green Building Council with a certification in Green Building, the first issued to a display builder. Image 4 has also been admitted to Co-op America, a national nonprofit that promotes environmental sustainability and social justice.

Image 4 created a website, www.greendisplay.info, to educate their industry about what it means to be green and how to achieve it.
