Laird Acquires Plastic Solutions

Jacob Rieskamp Signs of the Times March 2009 Issue

Laird Plastics has acquired Plastic Solutions Inc. (PSI), Louisiville, KY. The acquisition allows Laird to expand its national footprint and allows customers to access a larger inventory and sales experience across 53 business units more easily. The company names will be listed as Laird Plastics/PSI.

Prior PSI owner Deonna Dean will continue to oversee aall business as business unit manager. The Laird Plastics/PSI team comprises:

Mike Norrod, assistant manager, a former employee of Laird Dayton who has served six years under Mike Ubelhart’s (current Dayton business unit manager) supervision. Now reporting to Dean, he will focus on sales growth.

Ralph Schreck, operations/sales, is one of the PSI founders and carries more than 10 years of plastics-distribution and fabrication-management experience.

Tina Schmidt, administrative, has more than five years of experience in office duties and local product delivery.

Robert Carroll. warehouse/fabrication, has more than five years of experience in warehouse production.

Steven Wood, fabrication, has more than five years of fabrication experience.
