Permlight (Tustin, CA) is announcing RailLight PL620 series, an LED linear-light array encased in a 2-in.-diameter aluminum railing with a 1-in.-wide section capable of being lit with blue or white light from within the railing. The system uses low-voltage, Class II, UL-listed LED lighting.

Operating on 12VDC, the rail-lighting system uses DL lighting modules that peel and stick into the railing cavity. The company reports that its thermal-management techniques allow the system to remain cool to the touch. Available in lengths up to 12 ft., the product comprises an unfinished aluminum extrusion, an LED lighting system and diffusing slip in white frosted lens. Custom-plated versions are available by special order. Initially available in blue, green and white, the product will soon be available in red and amber.
