Mutoh America Inc. (Phoenix, AZ) announces its 64-in. wide, ValueJet 1618A, a high-performance, dual-head printer that operates at speeds up to 480 sq. ft./hr. (production mode) using Mutoh’s Eco-Ultra Ink.

Mutoh says its odorless, Eco-Ultra ink is scratch resistant and has an accelerated drying time.

The ValueJet 1618A features two, drop-on-demand, piezo printheads (180 nozzle x eight lines) and comprises Mutoh’s patented, Intelligent-Interweaving print technique (i2) to eliminates banding. It’s 12 printing modes allow resolutions of 1,440, 720 and 540 dpi. The printer will handle roll media weighing up to 67 lbs.; the actual print width is 63.97 in.

It will print full-color posters, banners, backlit panels, POS displays, signs, and stickers.

Also available is the ValueJet 1618A-HD model that includes a heavy-duty take up system that handles up to 220lbs of media, for longer unattended printing capability.

To maintain its high print speeds, the $29,995 1618A’s media-drying system includes individually controlled, pre-, platen-, and post- heaters. Eco-Ultra Ink is available in 1000ml ink packs.

The printer includes a one-year, on-site warranty and Onyx Mutoh Edition RIP Software.
