Mutoh Offers Hands-On School of Wrap

Mutoh America Inc. (Phoenix) is announcing its “Hands-On School of Wrap” classes, which are scheduled for June 16-18, 2009, at Mutoh America’s headquarters. Todd LaBrie, owner of Carwraps, will instruct attendees how to effectively design and produce wraps to earn a significant profit while cutting labor costs. Patrick Buckley of Direct Effect Graphics will provide one-on-one installation training.

Designing in Adobe Illustrator, working with templates, file setup (layers, clipping paths, color space), placing images, concepts for increased productivity, file prep, RIP, print and lamination tips

June 17– Day 2: Design & Production, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Wrap materials — good vs. best; tools and equipment; cleaning, pre-inspection and prepping the vehicle (importance of Primer 94); techniques for handling a squeegee; heating gun vs. torch; unpacking decals and understanding the layout; removing hardware; hanging side panels, checking layout and aligning decals; hinge methods and panel installation, cutting

June 18–Day 3: Installation Continued, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Positioning graphics (hands-on); panel installation, cutting, finishing a completed job, troubleshooting unforeseen problems.
