Mutoh’s Monopoly Monopoly

Published

on

Group Imaging, a Mesa, AZ digital-print provider, recently printed this ersatz Monopoly board, floor graphic with its 60-in.-wide, Mutoh Toucan printer. Group Imaging owns several Mutoh (Phoenix) printers; most recently, it purchased Mutoh’s ValueJet 1614, 64-in. wide and ValueJet 2606, 100-in. wide printers. Jeff Burris, the company president, said the printers “have been running pleasantly since we set them up.”
Group Imaging produces signs, tradeshow displays, banners and, on request, artificial Monopoly-board floor graphics. This one serves as a stage graphic for the Central Christian Church of East Valley (Mesa), whose band you see pictured here.
Group imaged the floor graphic on 16-oz. matte vinyl, with solvent ink. They tiled it in 5-ft.-wide strips, then welded the tiled pieces together on a Miller Weldmaster (Navarre, OH) sealing machine.
We asked Group Imaging’s sales manager, Angela Jordan, to comment on the most difficult part the job. “Nothing,” she said. “It was easy.”
