Roland DGA (Irvine, CA) is adding the VersaUV® LEF-300 UV flatbed printer to its VersaUV LEF series of benchtop, UV-LED flatbed printers for the personalization and custom-printing markets. Designed for production printing, the LEF 300 UV features a 30 x 13-in. table and will accept objects up to 3.94 in. thick. It features four printheads and two, UV-LED lamps and Roland’s new, CMYK, white and clear ECO-UV inks.
The LEF-300 will image on such substrates as PET, ABS and polycarbonate; and such soft materials as TPU and leather. It also handles 3-D items that range from smart-phone cases and laptop covers to signs, giftware and promotional items. In addition, it can build up multiple clear layers to create 3-D texture and its vacuum system and cool, LED-curing system allow thin material printing.
The LEF-300 ships with Roland’s VersaWorks® Dual software RIP, which supports native PostScript and PDF files, including those with transparencies. The software also eases such tasks as offset, positioning, rotation, and registration of ink layers, and it allows automatic creation of white- and clear-ink effects.
