The EFI™ R3225 is a 10.5-ft.-wide, UV-cure, roll-to-roll printer that s Express-mode speed of 939 sq. ft./hr. proves it’s built for a production, franchise signshop, or commercial-printer environment. EFI says the printer helps maximize shop profits in three ways:
• The variable-droplet ink technology (up to 1,200 x 600 dpi) optimizes ink usage;
• The UV-cure technology requires less energy (and produces fewer VOCs);
• And, the use of flexible and lower-cost substrates extends the product range while reducing media costs.
Do the math: Less ink, less energy, more market penetration = higher profits.
The EFI R3225 UV will produce traditional signs and banners, but it also images premium signage and graphics because its close-up quality excels in POP, printed displays, banners, interior decorations, wall coverings, vehicle-graphic applications and more.
The UV-cure printer features CMYK, EFI R3225 3M™ UV inks, which are delivered through an eight-level, variable-drop grayscale, piezo-printhead technology that can produce near-photographic image quality and a high apparent resolution (because variable drop grayscale changes the dynamic color range) with less ink. The technology replaces print methods that add light-ink colors (to smooth tones). Comparatively, it can save up to 40% on ink usage. This is a significant savings — and, you don’t need to stock the light-ink colors other technologies may require.
The EFI R3225 features automatic head-height adjustment and auto purge. Shuttered, mercury lamps with variable, independent settings provide the UV-cure energy. Additionally, it ships with a full set of ink in 3.25-liter bottles, and you can clean and add ink without stopping the print operation.
It’s equipped with EFI’s Fiery® XF RIP for wide format, and a PC designed to optimize the RIP performance. This combination package houses job-management, remote-access functions and advanced ICC color-management utilities. Further, it allows you to simultaneously RIP and print. You’ll also find typical production tools (nesting, step and repeat, scaling cropping and tiling, for example), plus bi-directional communication between the Fiery XF RIP and the printer.
EFI helps print-service providers increase profits by providing digital technologies that extend a shop’s market reach. The R3225 helps expand your offerings because the applicable-substrate list exceeds common inventories. The printer’s technology also cuts costs, enhances print/color fidelity and speeds the shop’s production flow. Further, you may choose EFI and 3M co-branded inks and 3M-brand graphic films, for Take a look. You’ll be amazed.
