HP’s six-color, Designjet L28500 adds a wider and faster latex-ink printer to its inkjet line. This advanced printer allows you to produce 104-in.-wide images at 1,200 dpi with HP’s latest, environmentally friendly inks. It images vivid, durable prints on coated and un-coated materials or off-the-shelf, eco-solvent, uncoated and recyclable media. Like other HP printers, the Designjet L28500 features internal, radiant heaters and a forced airflow system to cure the inks. It produces dry, ready-to-use prints that are also set for hot, cold or liquid lamination.
HP latex printing has a broad range of applications. HP says its Designjet L28500 will image on vinyl, fabrics, paper and film to produce signage, soft signage, vehicle wraps, POP, tradeshow, exhibition, event and wall and floor graphics. It also meets the Greenguard certified (SM) market and other standards required by school administrators. Additionally, the printer’s HP 792 Designjet latex inks offer the 3M™ MCS™ Warranty for vehicle as well as finished graphics.
Compared to industry-available inkjet printers, the Designjet L28500’s thermal printheads and water-based, latex ink require significantly less cleaning effort. The heads snap in and out — no special tools required. Nor does the machine require special ventilation because HP’s water-based inks don’t produce HAPs (EPA Method 311).
The inks require no hazard-warning labels.
The prints are scratch, smudge and water resistant. HP says outdoor, bare-print durability is three years — five years with lamination. In addition, the printer features an automatic, end-of-job cutter.
Did we mention the touchscreen? The remote-management function? The automatic-registration system that allows you to produce double-sided prints?
If you’re currently outsourcing your large-format printing, or seeking an eco-friendly printer that offers versatility and saves time and money, investigate the HP Designjet L28500.
