My favorite kind of sign project occurs when we create a complete branding program. For this particular dentist office in our hometown of Ft. Worth, TX, we created channel letters, a dimensional lobby sign, a wall mural and, for purposes of this article, window graphics. The entire graphic, which measures 9 ft. 4 in. tall and 51 ft. 7 in. long, was printed in 27 roll-fed sheets on our HP DesignJet L26500 latex-ink printer.
Cowtown Graphics’ GM and lead designer, Brandon Chilcutt, designed the graphic, which was installed on the window’s exterior over a two-day period. The client anticipates the graphic will last for 3-5 years.
We’ve worked with Reese Dental previously, having produced feather flags, banners and table throws for them, so they were already confident in our abilities. Nonetheless, we brought them into the studio to show them our processes. Apparently, sign companies they previously worked with hadn’t provided such personal attention. They trusted our advice was in their best interest. Windows only constitute 6% of our overall sales, but they are becoming more important.
