ESAB Welding and Cutting Products (Florence, SC) is debuting the Acer DX high-speed plasma cutter. Available in 200- or 360A, 5 x 10-ft. or 6 x 12-ft. models, the steel machines cut substrates up to 1.25 in. thick. Features include the m3 Precision Plasmarc system, which allows the machine to cut and mark with one torch; multi-gas capability for carbon-steel, stainless and aluminum processing; automatic, plasma-gas control; three-axis, rack-and-pinion drives; digital AC drives and AC brushless motors; and cutting speeds up to 1,400 in./min.
