The AmericanAirlines Arena in Miami and A2aMEDIA (Boston) has unveiled a 3,400-sq.-ft. digital-media façade, which the company says is the largest digital LED display in the Southeast. The façade, dubbed MiamiMediaMesh, displays advertisement and sponsorships from such national brands as American Airlines, Assist-Card Corp., Bacardi and Miller Lite Concert Series.

The arena also added a social media-interactive element by opening it to the local community as a messageboard, inviting passersby to send messages via Twitter.

The façade faces Biscayne Blvd., which boasts 65,000 cars daily. The arena attracts 1.4 million visitors annually.

MediaMesh is an architectural, woven, stainless-steel mesh that is embedded with linear tubes filled with LED nodes that provide “pixels” for displaying high-resolution digital imagery. A2aMEdia brought MediaMesh technology to stadiums, casinos, convention centers, parking garages and other large-scale structures in the U.S. and Canada. The company licenses the patent-pending technology from ag4 and GKD, the two German companies the designed and manufacture the product.
