Owners of the AMC Evanston 12 theater in Evanston, IL have recently updated the well-recognized blade sign for the cinema from “CENTURY” to “EVANSTON,” according to a report by local news outlet Evanston Now.

The Century, a downtown movie house on Maple Ave., closed early in 2020 and remained dormant until late 2022. “At that time, a new operator, AMC Theaters, re-opened movie house as AMC Evanston 12, but only with paper signs on the doors,” the report states.
