Clear Focus Imaging Inc. (Santa Rosa, CA) is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year. The company has specialized in the manufacture of One Way Vision™ perforated, window-graphics films since its inception in 1994. The company spent several years developing the business, establishing relationships with suppliers and distributors, and acquiring the necessary rights under patents to secure a position in the sign and wide-format, digital-imaging industry.

Its first, major accomplishment was pioneering the affordable use of window graphics on buses around the world in the mid-1990s. Within three years, Clear Focus became the worldwide leader in the emerging One Way Vision™ see-through window graphics market.

During the past 15 years, Clear Focus Imaging Inc. films have been used by leading U.S. and international corporations for various advertising and promotional campaigns, including product launches, major sporting and entertainment events, and corporate identity. Clear Focus distributes its products globally and has offices in France and Germany.

Major milestones include:

1994: Launched ClassicVue® exterior-mount film for vehicle-window wraps.

1995: Launched an interior-mount film that was designed primarily for screenprinting; and ClassicVue® for the Gerber EDGE thermal-transfer printer.

1998: Launched SuperVue® exterior-mount film, which features a larger hole size (2mm) than ClassicVue (1.5mm). SuperVue opened up the building-wrap market.

1999: Launched JetVue®, an inkjet-compatible, exterior-mount film for use with mid- and wide-format aqueous inkjet printers; and ClearLam®, an optically clear polyester overlaminate.

2000: Launched ClassicVue® for the Arizona 180, a solvent-based piezo-electric inkjet printer.

2005: Launched ImageVue®, which features a 65/35 perforation pattern, and its aqueous-inkjet-compatible counterpart, ImageJetVue®. It also introduced CurvaLam®, an optically clear, conformable, PVC overlaminate.

2008: Launched PosterVue™, a non-adhesive perforated window graphics film for interior or exterior mounting; ReflectVue™, a retroreflective, exterior-mount, perforated, window-graphics film; and PerfxCoat®, a thermally transferred protective coating.

The privately held U.S. company, which also offers perforating services, distributes its products in more than 50 countries worldwide. It had celebrated its 10th anniversary by moving to a larger facility on March 1, 2004.

In celebration of its 15th birthday, the company has launched a mid-summer promotion beginning July 1 in which its North American distributors can purchase 60-in.-wide rolls of SuperVue® exterior-mount perforated window film at the 54-in.-wide price. The limited-time offer applies to standard 100-ft. rolls as well as 1,000-ft. master rolls while supplies last. The promotion ends on July 31, 2009. Also in commemoration of its anniversary, the company has released newly designed product data sheets covering its complete line of One Way Vision window graphics films and overlaminates. Available individually by product or as a set, the data sheets feature color photos illustrating representative applications, a 4×6-in. film sample and detailed specifications.
