Design Center Signs, Inc. (Tyler, TX)has acquired the assets of Kirkland Sign Co., also of Tyler. The custom-signage manufacturer was founded in 1983 by Don Kirkland and his partner, Scott Zimmerman. The purchase will add internally illuminated signs and custom architectural graphics to Design Center Signs’ product and service offering. It also also doubles the existing service and installation fleet of crane, ladder and aerial lift platform trucks to eight.

Scott Zimmerman will join the Design Center Signs’ team, along with plant foreman Duane Belhumeur and the entire group of fabricators and installers, which has 112 years of combined design, sign-making, installation and repair experience. Paul Ingle, Design Center Signs’ VP, currently serves as president of the Texas Sign Assn. for 2013-2014.
