Epson America Inc. (Long Beach, CA) is introducing its Epson SureColor® F7070 and SureColor F6070 printers, which were developed for 24/7, dye-sublimation, industrial-textile, roll-to-roll printing. The CMYK printers, which incorporate Epson’s latest advancements in performance imaging, comprise MicroPiezo® TFP® printhead and Epson’s new, UltraChrome® DS dye-sublimation ink technology that, the company says, produces vibrant colors and intense blacks. Both printers feature 720 x 1,440-dpi print quality; high-capacity, 1.5L, refillable-ink cartridges; a roll-to-roll, media take-up reel; Wasatch® RIP and workflow software; and a one-year, limited, on-site warranty.
The 64-in.-wide F7070, with print speeds up to 634 sq. ft./hr., is optimized for rotary, heat-transfer press applications; the 44-in.-wide 6070 prints at speeds up to 682 sq. ft./hr. and is best for flatbed, heat-transfer press applications.
Both printers also feature 1-in.-wide, 10-channel (720 nozzles/color), drop-on-demand, inkjet printheads specifically optimized for dye-sublimation inks; the enhanced, variable-droplet technology produces ink drops as small as 5.3 pl and, a low-vibration, meniscus-control system assures accurate dot shape and placement.
