Ikonics Appoints Carlson to Board of Directors

Ikonics Imaging – Sign Systems (Duluth, MN), an imaging-technology company, is announcing Lockwood Carlson has been appointed as a director, which expands the company's board of directors by one. Carlson will stand for re-election as a director at the 2009 annual meeting of shareholders, together with the other current directors.

Carlson is president of the Minneapolis-based Carlson Consulting Group and also serves on several other corporate and nonprofit boards.

He holds the James Renier Chair in Technological Leadership at the Center for the Development of Technological Leadership at the University of Minnesota, where he is on the faculty and teaches in the management of technology program.

Carlson received his Ph.D in physics in 1971 from the University of Wyoming and retired from 3M Co., where he served as corporate scientist. He led research efforts in thin films, electrophotography, solid-state materials and electronic imaging. Carlson is a member of the American Physical Society, IEEE, World Future Society, and the Association of Professional Futurists.
