A judge issued an injunction on the city of Jacksonville, NC’s signage restrictions, a victory for food truck vendors after a two-year legal battle, WITN reports.

Three vendors sued Jacksonville in December 2022 over the city’s restrictions for food truck signs, which mandated that 5 x 5 A-frame signs must be placed within 20 ft. of the truck. The regulations also prohibited electronic signage.

On May 12, a judge at Onslow County Superior Court granted a temporary injunction on the city’s enforcement of the signage restrictions until the lawsuit could be resolved. Food truck owners in Jacksonville can now use 15-ft. feathered signs and electronic signs.
