Keypoint Intelligence (Weymouth, MA) has announced the publication of the 2022-2027 Production Printing Market Forecast for North America and Western Europe.

The forecast is driven by Keypoint Intelligence’s quarterly tracking program of equipment unit sales and intense market research. Metrics are based on equipment unit sales, installed base, print volumes, and revenues (i.e., equipment, service, and supplies), per Keypoint Intelligence.

The US and Western European digital printing production forecast includes growth/decline trends by the different color and monochrome production-level categories. Additionally, trends are also shown based on inkjet vs. electrophotography and feeding type (i.e., cut-sheet and roll-fed). The trend towards print-volume consolidation is still being driven by the Internet, centralized production centers and outsourcing — also according to the company’s report.

“Color print volumes are expected to have a CAGR of 5% and 6% (WE and US, respectively),” German Sacristan, group director of Keypoint Intelligence’s production team, is quoted in the company announcement. “Black and white is on a decline due to print volumes shifting to e-documents and color inkjet presses; books are the strongest black and white application.”

The Production Market Forecast: 2022-2027 reports can be purchased separately or as part of a subscription to other research provided by Keypoint Intelligence’s On Demand Printing & Publishing service.
