Larry Mann, of Larry Mann & Assoc. (Cumming, GA), a manufacturers’ representative, has announced his retirement after 43 years in the sign industry. He cited the current economic situation and the desire to devote more time to his family and leisure as incentives.

Mann began his career January 1966, in sign-supply distribution with Neon Engineering (Atlanta). After 19 years there, in July 1985, he opened an independent manufacturers’ representative business that served the Southeast U.S.

He has been a member of NESA/ISA for 42 years and has attended each of those 42 shows. He has also belonged to the Southeast Sign Assn. for 39 years, the Florida Sign Assn. for 24 years, and Mid South Sign Assn. for 34 years. He also was a member of the Texas Sign Assn., Oklahoma Sign Assn., Outdoor Advertising Assn. of America, Georgia Outdoor Advertising and North Carolina Outdoor Advertising Assn.

Mann said, “I consider myself very fortunate and blessed to have so many great friends in the sign industry all over the U.S. Many of them from the old days have gone from this Earth and are very much missed. However, there are many current friends who mean so much and carry the torch for the industry.

“I take this opportunity to thank each and every person who has been a part of my life in the sign industry over the years. Your friendship and loyalty have been very much appreciated and will not be forgotten.

“If all goes to plan, I hope to attend some future ISA, FSA, MSSA and SESA functions and look forward to visiting with the industry.”
