The June 17 edition of the New York Times profiles San Francisco’s New Bohemia Signs, where owner Damon Styer and his five-person staff paints and gilds signs and window displays by hand. ST publisher Wade Swormstedt is quoted in the article as noting that, although vinyl has become a ubiquitous sign-industry, there will always be interesting in handpainted signage.

However, ST was years ahead of "The Old Gray Lady" in recognizing the beaufy of New Bohemia Signs’ work. Sr. Associate Editor Steve Aust featured Styer’s shop in its September 2007 issue.
