Roland DGA (Irvine, CA) is releasing its 64-in.-wide, SolJet Pro 4 XF-640 wide-format, inkjet printer that, the company says, is engineered for 24/7, production-grade strength and speed. Equipped with Roland’s Eco-Sol Max 2 advanced-ink technology in a dual, CMYK ink-set configuration that comprises two, eight-channel (180 nozzles per channel), staggered-array, piezo-inkjet printheads that can produce seven different droplet sizes; the 1,440-dpi XF-640 produces a broad color gamut and long-term outdoor durability Roland says.
It prints at speeds up to 1,098 sq. ft./hr. – additional pinch rollers and an improved grit-roller system help ensure trouble-free processing. The printer also features a pre-heater that improves ink/media receptiveness, a print heater that accelerates ink fastness and brightness, and a dryer to accelerate the drying process.
Also included is Roland’s VersaWorks RIP software (built with Adobe’s Postscript engine) that features Pantone® spot-color libraries that offer color charts and swatch books, an ink-usage calculator, and Roland’s OnSupport system that alerts you (by text or email) when a job is complete or ink is low.
