Dimensional Signs

Soaring Above the Rest

Carousel Signs’ fabricates a monument for a new development.

When creating a monument sign for the Patriots Landing community, Carousel Signs and Designs (Rockville, VA) wanted a look as storied and revered as the bald eagle itself. The shop cut signs out of Sign Art Products’ (Capistrano Beach, CA) Sign Foam using a Gerber (South Windsor, CT) Sabre router. The “Patriots Landing” lettering was distressed with a pin hammer and then antiqued, says Carousel’s Sarah Schmucker. The eagle was handcarved and painted, and the historical marker at the front of the monument was sprayed with metallic paints to resemble a metal casting. Carousel’s masonry department constructed the monument’s core, while its construction department constructed the timbers, “house” and roof. They subcontracted the electrical work.
