Spartech Appoints New CEO and Executive VP

Spartech (St. Louis), a leading manufacturer of engineered thermoplastics and specialty materials, has appointed Andy Filson as chief executive officer and member of the Board of Directors, as well as Kevin Duffy as executive vice president of sales & marketing, according to a press release.

Filson succeeds Terry Sutter, who has served as Interim CEO and will continue as a member of Spartech’s Board of Directors. Duffy will report directly to Filson.

Filsin brings extensive leadership experience across global, diversified manufacturing organizations, with a strong track record of driving operational excellence, growth and value creation. He most recently served as president and chief operating officer of CoorsTek, where he led large-scale transformations across operations, quality, safety and portfolio strategy. Prior to that, he held senior leadership roles at Corning Inc. and board positions at related joint venture companies.

Duffy brings deep and relevant experience in the plastics industry, with a proven track record of driving commercial excellence, strengthening customer relationships and delivering sustained business growth. Prior to joining Spartech, he held positions of increasing responsibility with PLASKOLITE, VYCOM (an affiliate of The AZEK Co.), Eastman and Rehrig Pacific Co. He has successfully led complex sales and marketing organizations fostering alignment between strategic initiatives and operational execution. He holds an MBA and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New Hampshire.
