Signs of the Times Editor-in-Chief Mark Kissling will lead an educational seminar entitled “Lessons & Trends Behind Sign Industry Data” at the ISA International Sign Expo 2026 in Orlando, FL, on April 9, 8-9 a.m. in Orange County Convention Center Room S330A. Joining him will be North American Signs (South Bend, IN) Production Manager Jameson Parker, and Studio Dzo (Austin, TX) Partner | Creative Director Russell Toynes — both also ST columnists.

Sign company owners and managers are always looking for information about their peers — how large are most shops, what are their annual sales, which types of signs do they sell, how much they charge and more. The information helps them to know where they stand and where to make possible adjustments to their businesses or departments.

Signs of the Times magazine has been conducting an annual Big Survey since 2022. The survey covers sign company owner and manager demographics, data on their companies, employees, retirement plans, “the state of the industry,” how much they pay for materials and charge for services, and more.

Mark, Jameson and Russell will break down some of the numbers, analyze the trends that have been emerging since the survey began in 2022, and impart lessons from the data and trends that attendees can apply to their own businesses.
